SpeedTouch 516 Modem Setup
Router Mode
- Connect modem directly to computer
- Open your browser
- Enter into the address bar 192.168.1.254 (The Speedtouch Home Page will appear)
- Click on the Speedtouch menu on the left
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Set Up link
- A new page will open up. Click Next
- Select Routed PPP, and Click Next
- Make sure that the VPI/VCI is 0.35
- Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE), and Click Next
- Enter in your User Name, Password and Confirm Password and click Next
- Choose "Admin" as username. Leave password area blank, and click Next
- Click on Start
- Now we wait for action.....
- Click on Finish...You're done
- Connect modem directly to computer
- Open your browser

Bridge Mode (If you are entering your settings into your Router)
- Connect modem directly to computer
- Open your browser
- Enter into the address bar 192.168.1.254 (The Speedtouch Home Page will appear)
- Click on the Speedtouch menu on the left
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Set Up link
- A new page will open up. Click Next
- Select Bridge, and Click Next
- Make sure that the VPI/VCI is 0.35, and Click Next
- Choose "Admin" as username. Leave password area blank, and Click Next
- If your going to hook your modem to a Router: Uncheck DHCP Server
- If your going to hook your modem up Directly to a computer: Keep DHCP Server Checked. Click Next
- Click on Start
- Now we wait for action.....
- Click on Finish...You're done
